saved 78%
cost: $2.98

i bought:
pur faucet filter $13.71 (25% off sale)
subtotal $13.71

used coupons:
-$10 eb from cvs advisor survey
    -$.50 eb from quarterly spending
= $3.21 + $.02 tax (used $3 eb + $.23 cvs gc)

$.25 eb gbt scan (i count each scan as $.25 since 4 scans gives us $1 eb)

    spent $3.23 ($3 eb + $.23 cvs gc)
    earned $.25 eb
    cost: $2.98
cvs got $0 in man. coupons to be reimbursed

year to date man. coupons used: $0

normally i include eb used as part of my cost. in this case, the $10 eb i got from a survey was like "free" money since i didn't have to spend anything to earn it.

and while i did have to spend some money to earn the $.50 for my quarterly spending, i never include the quarterly eb earned when calculating the cost of each transaction. so i may as well count those savings now that i'm spending it!
