notes:a few weeks ago, when i went to the register to check out, the cashier handed me a crt to fill in my email address with promises of a $4/$20 coupon. cvs does this once in a while and i think i got the coupon the first time i did it, but not afterwards. so i was shocked to receive this $4/$20 in my email.

then i realized something... since it had already printed before i checked out, i'm thinking it belonged to the customer before me. no wonder i got the coupon, it was really meant for that previous customer who now has my email address attached to their card!

the $4/$20 was a 13-digit one time use coupon, so i was able to use it with my card without any beeps. but if i get any weekly emails with $/$$ coupons for this account, they will beep.

notes:the store was out of oral-b crossaction toothbrushes, but i got a raincheck so its all good! :)

my $10 eb did not need to be adjusted because the cashier scanned some of my items before my cvs card. if you don't have your card scanned 1st, your subtotal can go negative.

just be careful that your total won't still be negative after tax is added - that can cause a lot of confusion and if the cashier doesn't know how to fix it you might be forced to buy gum or some other item that you don't really want!

(cashier got it to go through anyway.) i notice the cvs $3 excedrin coupon is listed on my receipt as "cvs mfr fsa coupon." if the system sees it as a man. coupon that would explain why it is beeping when combined w/ another man. coupon.

notes:there is a new olay mir for $15 wyb 3 Olay Facial Moisturizers, Facial Treatments, Facial Cleansers, Hand & Body Lotions, Body Washes or 6+ Bar Soap Packs. i would only need one more olay purchase to send that in.

i added the $.33 caramel when my balance went into the negative! usually you can only use eb up to the subtotal before tax is added and you have to pay the tax oop. but when you have bogo sale items in your transaction, the system will accept coupons and eb up to the amount before the bogos are deducted! in this case, you will be able to pay your tax w/ eb. the only problem is that your eb will go through without prompting for adjustment even if it causes your balance to go negative.

after paying most of my balance with coupons and eb, i saw that my balance was still over $1, so i used $1 eb. but this was a gbt eb, so it rang up as a "cvs coupon" and lowered the tax as well. that put my balance into the negative so i added the caramel.

i was going to get more nature's bounty for the bonus pack deal, because i was able to print more coupons last night. but they weren't ringing up bogo (presumably not printing eb either).

i threw in the caramel because my total (before tax) without it was $15.97 and the cashier/manager said he couldn't adjust down my $16 eb...

i guess i'll write an email asking about that. not that i mind buying a caramel once in a while, but

1) i'd like to know if the policy has changed (don't think so, because he didn't say that this is something new when i mentioned that i get eb adjusted all the time.)

2) being a a manager he should really know the correct policy.

3) they don't always have caramels! which means i'd have to add something more expensive that i probably don't even want.
